Music Photo Memory: Ruby Tuesday

A great photoblog to be found here

One of my favourite pit memories is photographing The Rolling Stones a few years ago.

20140806-011714-4634634.jpg
The band was fantastic live and so professional.
Their tour manager actually thanked photographers, on behalf of herself and the band, for helping to document the show. Rare respect.
This has only ever happened at one other show ~ AC/DC.
Usually band/tour managers leave the publicists in charge of the photographers and don’t come anywhere near us – unless it’s to warn us to be careful as there will be fireworks on stage (EMINEM) and drumkits on springs that just might bounce off stage (Slipknot).
Anyway, today I leave you with perfect Tuesday lyrics …
“Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still I’m gonna miss you…
There’s no time to lose, I heard her say
Catch your dreams before they slip away…”

Christmas at Home and Decorations 2013

Kyleeann and I were in Melbourne for Christmas this year so we decorated the lounge room. We spent part of Christmas eve in the CBD for something different. (Portrait Pics taken By Diane Russo)2013_1221kyleeannjason0005

Working on the 35mm Anthology Book 3 Gallery

I am currently scanning prints from my 35mm film photography photo album. Which covers 2000 – 2004 Its a bigger album than the other two, so its going to take awhile, what with photoshopping the brightness and contrast levels and filtering dust from the clean image/scanner glass. I don’t know how it gets into the scans but it does. Its a long way off but, just wanted to let you know that work has begun.

I won’t be doing a digital image anthology as some of the source material has been lost in various hard drive crashes in the last few years, there are some digital images that are in the Greatest Hits gallery above and they are all that remains of my digital images from 2004 – 2008. Since then its been photos taken on phone cameras and Instagram images.

Well Done

It’s been 2 years on 1st of April since my mum passed away due to complications of having ovarian cancer. In the time leading up to mums passing the music of singer songwritter Phil Laeger became more and more valued in dealing with mums passing. For the funeral, I took it upon myself to put together a photo slide show, which was set to one of Phil s songs “Well Done” from his “Honestly” Album. The images and the song worked really well together, I have wanted to share the this presentation before, but had been unable to due to technical reasons in the uploading of the video file. I have since found the source material and been able to sucessfully upload the following slideshow to youtube.

Through My Mothers Eyes.

In the few years before my mum passed on, she brought herself a digital camera which documented her journey of those years. This slideshow are the photos she took on that journey.
